Katie's story

Accessing the community is one of Katie’s top priorities. On any given day, you will find Katie at the zoo checking out the elephants, at the museum, planetarium or enjoying a coffee at her favourite café. With a keen sense of adventure, another passion of Katie’s is travel. In the past couple of years, Katie has been fortunate enough to travel to America to visit the Space Centre in Houston, Texas and also to Norway, to see Northern Lights! A trip her carer claims as one of the best days she has ever had at work!

Receiving 24 hour support, Katie receives a variety of assistance, including personal care to ensure she is ready for the day, domestic assistance to keep her home in order and also clinical support to ensure medication is properly managed. Maintaining a daily rehabilitation routine has increased Katie’s strength significantly, which has helped with walking and completing daily household jobs such as hanging out the washing and preparing meals.

After 25 years in the Australian Army working as a weapons technician, including tours of Borneo and Vietnam, Kevin now feels most comfortable at home creating beautiful artwork, using wood burning techniques, with his dog Charlie by his side.;

Assisting Liam 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, the two can often be found cooking, playing darts, the PlayStation or Ping-Pong, a game Kerry has picked up over the past six months and has become admittedly quite good at! ;

Corinne's Story

After finishing school, Corinne worked at a special needs summer camp in America, where she fell in love with the feeling of helping others and experiencing the joy they felt. “Working one on one with clients, helping them achieve their goals is extremely rewarding, you can really see the positive impact it has on their lives.”;

Lynn's Story

Joining the team in 2016, Lynn is one of our disability support workers, providing care to Programmed clients in South Australia. Looking after two clients on a daily basis, Lynn is up early and at her first client’s home by 7am to help him get out of bed and ready for the day and then heads to her next client’s house to assist him to get ready for school. Back and forth between client’s homes all day, Lynn calls it a day once she has finished tidying up after dinner, prepared everything for the;

Patrick's Story

Patrick understands first-hand how important support is to those in need. When he was younger, his best friend developed a rare degenerative condition and he saw how support workers improved and assisted his daily living, and relieved the stress from his parents.;
